Membership

Any institution joining TIMA should nominate a senior member of staff to represent the institution at meetings and to receive written correspondence. In addition to this representative the institution may nominate up to four further members of staff to join TIMA. They should complete separate membership forms.

Groups and Sub-committees

There are four interest groups within TIMA: cataloguing, conservation, digitisation and publishing. Each group is directed by a sub-committee, the heads of whom are:

  • Cataloguing: Mr. David Hirsch, Librarian for Middle Eastern Studies, Charles Young Research Library, UCLA
  • Conservation: Dr. Mandana Barkeshli, Founder and Managing Director, Art and Identity
  • Digitisation: Dr. Mohsen Farid, Teaching Fellow, Department of Computer Science, The Queen’s University of Belfast
  • Publishing: Dr. Ayman Shihadeh, Lecturer in Islamic Studies, Department of Islamic and Middle Eastern Studies, University of Edinburgh

Membership of each sub-committee is restricted to those experts working at a high level in the field who are committed to actively furthering the work of the group. If you wish to be considered for membership of a sub-committee, please contact the Executive Committee (tima@islamicmanuscript.org) briefly detailing your relevant expertise.
