Overview
One of the objects of TIMA as stated in the constitution is to "facilitate access to digital and microfilm images of manuscripts". Because of the time and effort required to develop a system such as that set up by the Hill Museum & Manuscript Library an iterative process is proposed.
Phase 1 Objectives:
- To get correct basic contact information for as many institutions possessing Islamic manuscripts as possible.
- Add links to online manuscript copy ordering systems, forms, procedures, etc.
- Develop editing tool for institution web entries so that researchers can add information on obtaining manuscript copies.
- In collaboration with the cataloguing group add links to online manuscript catalogues.
- Identify out of print catalogues that may be easily obtained and in a condition to be scanned.
