Introduction
The remit of the sub-committee covers the publishing of facsimile and critical editions as well as the fields of palaeography, codicology, specialist bibliography and the history of literature. Our goals are to:
- Act as a virtual centre of excellence, fostering the acquisition and dissemination of expertise in research methodology, publishing, etc., in the field of manuscript studies and text editing.
- Investigate and pursue means to facilitate access to research sources worldwide - especially, but not only, on Islamic manuscripts.
- Initiate and/or collaborate in projects designed to produce works of reference and/or research relating to the study of manuscripts and texts.
