I am project leader of the Post-classical Islamic Philosophy Database Initiative (PIPDI) based at the Institute of Islamic Studies, McGill University. PIPDI is creating the database infrastructure that will enable a systematic investigation of the vast but severely understudied corpus of Islamic philosophical texts dating from 1100-1900 CE. These post-classical texts include original and exegetical works on logic, philosophy of language, epistemology, ethics, metaphysics, natural philosophy and cosmology, and philosophy of mind. Approximately 85-90% of these texts are available only in manuscript form.
