- I have worked as a Middle East Librarian for over 35 years, firstly at the University of Lancaster, and since 1981 at the University of Exeter. My interests lie mainly with printed material, and I have published work on the bibliography of Yemen, the acquisition of Arabic printed books by UK libraries, Arabic biographical dictionaries, Victorian periodicals and the Middle East, and relations between Britain and the Middle East in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. I have just completed a HEFCE project on user requirements for digitised resources in Islamic Studies
